orange-ant-glusterfs

by John Mark Walker, Gluster Community Lead

We are very excited about the OpenStack Foundation’s latest Havana release, which we see as an important advancement in OpenStack community. This iteration includes performance enhancements for OpenStack Block Storage (Cinder), Compute (Nova) and Image Service (Glance), as well as a native template language for OpenStack Orchestration (Heat). Additionally, the features in the Havana release will continue to function seamlessly alongside GlusterFS, which is the backbone of Red Hat’s Storage solution.

The development of this solution is a proof point for the necessity of flexible, scale-out, software-defined storage solutions for today’s enterprises. You can get more details about the storage-specific enhancements, as well as a 1-1 comparison of the Havana and Grizzly releases on the Gluster Community blog here.
