Our First Meetup: GlusterFS Architecture Deep-dive

We had a very entertaining meetup at our headquarters here in Sunnyvale. AB Periasamy, our CTO, delivered over an hour’s worth of material focused on the inner-workings of GlusterFS to a standing-room only audience. Over 30 people attended, and no one left early – who knew distributed filesystems could be so much fun?

One of the hot topics of the evening was filesystems in user space, on account of our recent blog debate on the subject. Other topics included how GlusterFS achieves performance at scale, some discussion about GlusterFS’s elastic hashing algorithm, and information about the future roadmap.
